“Heartbeat” is a single from Chicago-based post-punk quintet Nude Model. Featured on their upcoming album entitled, Love Games, set for release this fall on No Trend Records. The album is the second part of a trilogy that began with the band’s debut, Crying Games, in 2018. “Heartbeat” was actually recorded after the sessions for Love Games with Todd Rittmann (Dead Rider / U.S. Maple). After hearing the demo, Rittmann loved the song so much he demanded the band return to his Shy Diamond Studios and record it for the album. It is now being presented as the first single from Love Games.

At its core, “Heartbeat,” is a song about love and loss. It’s a steady pulsing groove that plays with influences of dub, shoegaze, and goth rock, but with an anthemic chorus charged with hope for better days ahead. In addition to being released on all digital platforms, the single will be pressed as a ‘double A-side’ Flexi-disc with “Solid Solid Gold,” a much more up-tempo ‘disco-esque’ no wave stomper to compliment.

Both Nude Model and No Trend will be donating all sales from the 500 run Flexi single to support Assata’s Daughters, an abolitionist organization led by Black women using a Black queer feminist lens and relationship-based tactics to educate and organize bases of Black youth in divested-from areas of Chicago. No Trend Records will be selling the Flexi singles as 3, 5 or 10 record “Love Packs,” so fans can give to a great organization and also share their love of music with friends.
